3.3.5 Mental health support for students(2024)
MCUT’s supports for students’ mental health include the following: (1) teachers visit live-in students to provide counseling related to their coursework and emotions and record the same in a form; (2) positive thinking education and mental health activities are undertaken for a total of 102 sessions attended by about 2,220 students, enhancing mental health and positive thinking; (3) psychiatrists are employed for free consultation, and those in need are referred directly for treatment; 63 people received consultation services throughout the year; (4) “mental health leave” is provided to students who are emotionally unstable and cannot attend classes normally; (5) psychological counseling, health education, and living subsidies are provided to pregnant students, who are also entitled to less stringent standards for leave of absence, grade evaluation, and terms of study; and (6) the “mental health week” activity series are organized annually.
