The Committee integrates University resources through cross-unit collaboration, aligns actions with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and embeds sustainability strategies, action plans and performance reviews in campus governance.
Integrating Resources for Stronger Sustainability Governance
To put sustainable development goals into practice and advance a sustainable campus, the University continuously refines its organizational structure, connects existing committees and cross-unit resources, and builds a more comprehensive governance mechanism.

Promotion Committee Formed
In response to the growing focus on campus sustainability, the Sustainable Development, Green University Promotion and Social Responsibility Promotion Committees were consolidated into the Sustainable Development Promotion Committee.
Committee Responsibilities
The Committee coordinates the planning and implementation of relevant policies. Through regular meetings and cross-unit teams, it ensures that sustainability initiatives are consistently implemented.

Develop the University’s sustainable development goals and strategies as a key foundation for institutional advancement.
Review Actions and Performance
Review sustainability action plans and evaluate outcomes to support a cycle of continuous improvement.
Integrate Cross-unit Teams
Approve cross-unit sustainability teams and promote shared participation among administrative and academic units.

Sustainable Development Office
The Office advances sustainability initiatives, coordinates resources across administrative and academic units, and manages related administrative work. The Director of the Institutional Research Center concurrently serves as the Committee’s Executive Secretary and the Director of the Sustainable Development Office.

Water Environment Stewardship
In 2025, water patrols and testing covered 20.7 km, while river-waste surveys covered 353.5 km. A total of 708 participant-times translated patrols, environmental education and community collaboration into local action.
Diversity and Inclusion Support
MCUT supports immigrant families, multicultural education and international migrant-worker engagement. Indonesian and Vietnamese supplementary learning materials were requested by 349 schools in 2025.
Green Innovation and Net-zero Transition
By integrating AI, green energy, circular materials and carbon management with research, talent development and industry collaboration, MCUT extends net-zero transition from governance into teaching and industry services.
ESG Sustainability Roadmap
Guided by the vision of “Diligence and Simplicity, Sustainable Development,” the Committee embeds environmental, social and governance priorities in institutional development through strategy, action review and performance evaluation.
Net-zero and Ecological Sustainability
2024 greenhouse-gas emissions were 8,384 tCO2e, with an emissions intensity of 1.197. MCUT is working toward net zero by 2040 while advancing biodiversity, endangered-species restoration and 30 annual water-environment patrols.
Talent Development and Social Responsibility
MCUT has 675 faculty and staff and 4,292 students, and maintains ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management. USR initiatives, local engagement and support for disadvantaged learners further social co-prosperity.
Transparent Governance and Financial Soundness
Sustainability committees, academic ethics, regulatory compliance and information-disclosure mechanisms strengthen governance resilience. In 2025, the debt ratio was 1.56%, while total assets reached NT$33.39 billion.
