What is ESG?

Environmental Protection

Environmental protection is an important issue receiving considerable attention.  We should pay attention to environmental sustainability issues, such as reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, industrial pollution and environmental pollution, as well as the ways to achieve sustainable development in natural world, and reduction of carbon emissions.  In recent years, there has been greater importance placed on environmental sustainability worldwide.  Enterprises, while developing the economy, should carefully evaluate how to maintain both economic development and nature sustainability, and how to respond to and deal with the environmental, ecological and climate problems.

Social Responsibilities

In terms of social performance, enterprises should fulfill their social responsibilities, abide by the laws and regulations, maintain good labor-employer relations and labor-management relations, comply with occupational safety and health standards, offer training and education, follow human rights principles, and fulfill social responsibilities.

Corporate Governance

In terms of business development, enterprises need to pay attention to their own reputation and social image in business ethics, shareholder rights, information transparency, internal and external risk management, etc., in order to comply with sustainable development goals.  Enterprises at home and abroad have successively set up sustainable development departments.  In addition to the efforts on sustainable management, enterprises also do their utmost to protect the environment.  While engaging in business operations, they actively practice sustainable development so as to follow the international development trends.  By fulfilling corporate citizens’ responsibilities, they can enhance their contribution to the economy of Taiwan, improve the quality of life of the employees, community and society, and increase their competitive advantages that take sustainable development as the basis.
