Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy

Based on the Human Rights Policy, MCUT further promotes Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) through gender equality mechanisms, support for students with disabilities, inclusive campus facilities, and financial aid for disadvantaged students.

Gender Equality and Prevention of Sexual Harassment

Regulations for the Implementation of Gender Equality Education:

Gender equality education on campus is implemented in accordance with the Gender Equity Education Act to enhance gender equality awareness among faculty, staff, and students, eliminate gender discrimination, and build a diverse and friendly campus environment.

Prevention of Campus Sexual Assault, Sexual Harassment, or Sexual Bullying / MCUT Procedures for Handling Incidents of Campus Sexual Assault, Sexual Harassment, or Sexual Bullying:

These regulations provide dedicated guidelines for the prevention and handling of sexual assault, sexual harassment, and sexual bullying on campus, offering formal complaint channels and protection mechanisms for victims and whistle-blowers.

Section on Laws and Regulations Related to Gender Equality Education:

This section compiles relevant national legislation, including the Gender Equity Education Act, Enforcement Rules for the Gender Equity Education Act, and Regulations for Handling Complaints Concerning Gender Equality in Employment, among others.

Support and Accessibility Policies for Persons with Disabilities

MCUT Special Education Program:

This program is established to support the learning and development of students with disabilities. Based on their characteristics and needs, it plans and provides on-campus learning support, life counseling, and related support services.

Implementation Guidelines for Academic Tutoring and Student Assistants of the Resource Classroom:

These guidelines aim to support the academic learning and campus life adaptation of students receiving special education at the University, reducing learning difficulties, low academic achievement, and maladjustment in daily life caused by their disabilities by providing necessary services.

Tuition and Fee Reductions and Study Benefits for Students with Disabilities:

Students with disabilities are entitled to full exemption or 70% / 40% reduction of tuition and fees depending on whether their disabilities are severe, moderate, or mild; children of persons with disabilities are also eligible for corresponding reductions.

Support for Disadvantaged and Economically Underprivileged Students

Financial Aid Program for Disadvantaged Students:

Students from low-income and lower-middle-income households, students with disabilities and their children, indigenous students, and students from special hardship families are provided with different levels of tuition and fee reductions according to household income brackets.

Indigenous Students and Cultural Diversity

Establishment of the Indigenous Students Resource Center:

The Center is established to assist indigenous students with life adaptation, academic learning, internship and employment counseling, and other forms of support and care. It also aims to develop a multicultural campus, enhance cultural exchange among indigenous students from different tribes and other student groups, and promote two-way intercultural learning.
