MCUT’s policy for the reduction of disposables follows the control regulations announced by the Ministry of Environment and the Environmental Protection and Safety and Health Policy under the ISO 14001 management system. To fulfill the commitment to sustainable development, MCUT strictly requires the contractor to comply with the environmental protection policy. For example, the canteen contractors are prohibited from providing plastic straws, eating utensils, drinking cups and carrier bags. MCUT’s green procurement of products bearing the energy-saving label totaled TWD 21.889 million in 2024. MCUT has been awarded the Excellence Award for Green Procurement Performance by the New Taipei City Government for six consecutive years, further signifying the results of MCUT’s procurement of recyclable, low-pollution and low-resource consumption products as the first priority and its commitment to sustainability.
