11.4.8 Planning development - new build standards(2024)
With the aim of achieving the net-zero target by 2050, MCUT is committed to improving the efficiency of building energy use to create a comfortable, healthy and eco-friendly campus. Meanwhile, MCUT also plans to install solar panels on the existing buildings. In 2025, it launched Phase‑II solar PV installation project expected to achieve an additional 559 kWp in December, and plus the existing 443 kWp, the capacity is over 1 MWp, thus strengthening the demonstration of sustainable teaching on campus. All new buildings are constructed in accordance with the Administrative Directions of Applying for Approval of the Green Building Label promulgated by the Ministry of the Interior. Since 2024, MCUT has started construction of the R&D building. The building adopts smart design and is expected to be completed and obtain the green building and smart building labels in 2027.
