7.2.1 Energy-efficient renovation and building(2024)
To accommodate the government’s net-zero by 2050 goal and the development of the country’s overall GHG emission reduction strategy, MCUT has formulated its energy policy, which includes: (1) prioritizing the procurement of eco-friendly products recognized by the government in accordance with the regulations; (2) planning the 2nd-phase solar power construction, which is expected to be completed in December 2025; (3) replacing air conditioners with high-efficiency or variable-frequency ones; (4) building 5 new outdoor EV chargers; (5) winning “Green Procurement Excellence Award” for six consecutive years from 2019 to 2024; (6) receiving the highest honor, Golden Bear of “Low-carbon Campus Label,” awarded by the Environmental Protection Bureau, New Taipei City; (7) a new R&D building occupying an area of 13,928 square meters, planned in 2023, under construction in 2024 and scheduled to be completed in 2027, has obtained the Silver-grade Green Building Label.
