MCUT’s policy for reduction of disposables is formulated in accordance with the Ministry of Environment’s “Regulations for Control of Disposables” as well as the on-campus Environmental Protection and Safety and Health Policy under an ISO 14001 management system. The policy includes (1) the prohibition of disposable plastic straws, eating utensils, cups and carrier bags in the canteen; (2) promotion of reducing disposables to the faculty, staff, and students in their daily lives; (3) use of ceramic cups at school meetings to mitigate the use of paper cups; (4) use of electronic signboards and bulletins to reduce disposable posters and promotional materials; (5) implementation of the paperless and plastic reduction policies under which MCUT provides tablet computers to supervisors and all of the routine meetings use cloud-based data.
