【Exchange Information】Successful Conclusion of the 2025 Rajalakshmi Engineering College Engineering and Cultural Immersion Camp
From June 15 to June 22, 2025, the "2025 Rajalakshmi Engineering College Engineering and Cultural Immersion Camp," organized by the Office of International Affairs, concluded successfully. The camp aimed to strengthen the collaboration between the two institutions from Taiwan and India and enhance our university's international image. It attracted 39 faculty members and students from Rajalakshmi Engineering College (REC), India.
Deepening Cross-Border Collaboration, Co-Creating the Future
The primary goal of this camp was to further deepen the collaboration between our university and Rajalakshmi Engineering College, while providing students with opportunities for cross-cultural exchange. Through a series of engineering courses, hands-on workshops, cultural experiences, and field visits, the camp fostered friendship and academic exchange between students from Taiwan and India.
In addition, local students served as "buddies," accompanying the visiting students in various activities and classes. This not only enabled participants to acquire advanced technical knowledge, but also allowed them to experience the unique local culture of Taiwan.
Exciting Activities: A Fusion of Technology and Culture
During the camp, participating students gained in-depth insights into Taiwan’s high-tech sectors through courses in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), drone engineering, and FPGA design and implementation. They also engaged in hands-on projects involving 3D printing and rapid prototyping, which significantly enhanced their technical competence and innovative thinking.
To help Indian students better understand Taiwanese culture, the camp also featured various cultural experiences, including visits to the Hakka Tea Culture Museum, Daxi Old Street, and iconic Taiwanese night markets. These activities provided the Indian students with a deeper appreciation of Taiwan’s history, culture, and lifestyle.
Academics and Culture in Harmony: Fruitful Student Exchange
At the end of the program, camp participants expressed that the cross-cultural experience not only enriched their technical knowledge but also helped them better understand and respect different cultures. The students from India were especially impressed by Taiwan’s education system and technological advancements.
Local students, in their role as buddies, improved their language communication skills and strengthened their teamwork and problem-solving abilities—valuable assets that will benefit their future global outlook.
