【Exchange Information】Expanding the Global Academic Network: MCUT and USC Launch New 2+2 Dual-Degree Program
To expand international collaboration and deepen academic partnerships abroad, Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) welcomed a delegation from Philippine sister school, the University of San Carlos (USC), on April 7. The two institutions held a signing ceremony and campus visit to mark the establishment of a 2+2 dual bachelor's degree program. This event represents a significant milestone in bilateral cooperation and injects strong momentum into MCUT's internationalization efforts.
In the morning, the USC delegation visited MCUT’s Department of Mechanical Engineering and Department of Electrical Engineering, where they explored teaching facilities and laboratories to gain a deeper understanding of MCUT’s academic strengths and distinctive features. The group also toured the university’s History Hall to learn about MCUT’s development journey and educational philosophy, expressing high praise for the university’s dedication to education and innovation.
During the signing ceremony, both parties officially signed an agreement to launch the “2+2 Dual Bachelor’s Degree Program” between their respective mechanical and electrical engineering departments. According to the program, students from USC will complete the first two years of study in the Philippines and then transfer to MCUT in Taiwan to finish the remaining two years. Upon successful completion, students will be awarded bachelor's degrees from both institutions.
This collaboration enhances the sharing of educational resources and joint talent cultivation, and it is expected to attract more outstanding students from the Philippines to study in Taiwan. The program will increase the number of international undergraduate students at MCUT, enrich the multicultural campus environment, and help retain high-potential international talent in Taiwan.
Looking ahead, MCUT will continue to strengthen its global partnership network, expand diverse international cooperation opportunities, and actively foster a multilingual, cross-cultural learning environment to empower students to shine on the global stage.
