update date : 2025-08-08

To strengthen academic ties between Taiwan and Thailand and foster international engagement in engineering and technology, Dr. Kolawach Chalermpong from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) visited Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) on June 11, 2025, for a solo visit to discuss future collaboration opportunities.

Dr. Chalermpong was warmly welcomed by Dr. Chieh-Lan (Winnie) Li, Dean of the Office of International Affairs (OIA). The two sides discussed potential partnerships, including student exchange programs, collaborative research, and joint degree initiatives.

The visit continued with a tour of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, where Dr. Chil-Chyuan Kuo, Chair, and Dr. Meng-Jey Youth, introduced the department’s curriculum, smart manufacturing research, teaching facilities, and industry-academia collaboration efforts—highlighting MCUT’s strengths in applied engineering education.

The final part of the visit was to the Center for Plasma and Thin Film Technologies, where Dr. Phuoc Huu Le from the International Ph.D. Program in Plasma & Thin Film Technology gave a presentation and guided tour of the center’s research in plasma science, nanomaterials, and international collaboration.

Though brief, the individual visit was productive and meaningful. Both parties expressed strong interest in developing future academic cooperation. MCUT remains committed to expanding its partnerships with top technical universities in Asia and continues to build a diverse, sustainable, and globally engaged higher education network.
