Min Chi University of Science and Technology and the Taishan Aesthetic Improvement Association have joined hands to host the "Taishan Aesthetic Improvement Association Joint Exhibition: Taishan Splendor – A Journey Through 20 Years" at the Min Chi Art Gallery on the first floor of the Innovation Building, from December 14 to December 21.
Although Min Chi University of Science and Technology is fundamentally a science and engineering institution, it has long been actively promoting university social responsibility. By integrating on-campus resources with local culture, the university works to promote local humanistic aesthetics. The school not only provides exhibition space in the Min Chi Art Gallery—giving community art activities a home—but also hosts cultural exhibitions and performances to foster exchange and collaboration among students, local artists, and the public. This not only enriches the artistic and cultural life on campus and in the community but also serves as an important platform for the inheritance of local culture and the development of aesthetics.
The university and the Taishan Aesthetic Improvement Association are also actively collaborating with local schools to promote children’s aesthetic education. They guide students to use cameras, brushes, and poetry to document Taishan’s humanistic and ecological features. By hosting various art and photography exhibitions, students can experience the diverse facets of art—from painting and photography to handicrafts—showcasing unique local styles and personal creativity. This process gradually enhances their ability to perceive and appreciate beauty, enabling them to express themselves with greater confidence and to learn to observe the world from different perspectives, which has profound significance for shaping well-rounded personalities and innovative thinking.
This joint exhibition features works by students from Mingzhi Elementary School, Tongrong Elementary School, Yixue Elementary School, Taishan Elementary School, Yixue Junior High School, Taishan Junior High School, Guangqi High School, and others, as well as local artists presenting their inner worlds through painting, photography, and other media. During the exhibition, university faculty and students are invited to explore the inspirations behind the artists’ engagement with art and to learn about the outstanding pieces on display. An opening ceremony will be held at 9:00 a.m. on December 15 in the lecture hall on the first floor of the Innovation Building, where approximately 80 local artists, school principals, parent association leaders, parents, students, community representatives, and friends are expected to attend, all coming together to witness the thriving development of Taishan’s local art scene.
